Youth Empowerment for Self Reliance (YEFOSR) is proud to share that we successfully participated in U-Learn’s Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) in Action program. This opportunity gave us the chance to strengthen our commitment to ensuring that refugee and host communities are at the center of the decisions and services that affect their lives.

Why AAP Matters to YEFOSR

As an organization working with young people in refugee-hosting communities, YEFOSR recognizes that sustainable impact can only be achieved when the voices of the people we serve are not only heard but acted upon. AAP emphasizes giving account, taking account, and being held to account —principles that align closely with our vision of youth-led development and community empowerment.

Our Learning Experience

Through the U-Learn training and technical support, YEFOSR gained valuable skills on:

* Designing and strengthening feedback mechanisms that ensure young people can voice their concerns freely and safely.
* Engaging communities in decision-making processes that respect diversity and inclusivity.
* Embedding transparency and accountability into our programs to build trust and credibility among the people we serve.

The program also connected us with other organizations and actors in the refugee response, creating opportunities for collaboration and shared learning.

#Looking Ahead

YEFOSR is committed to applying the lessons from U-Learn’s AAP program in all our initiatives. We will continue creating platforms where refugee and host community youth can influence decisions, drive solutions, and take ownership of their development journey.

By participating in AAP in Action, YEFOSR reaffirms its dedication to transforming humanitarian response from a one-way provision of services to a partnership model, where communities are equal stakeholders in shaping their future.
